Mission

Create a national movement to develop livable communities with transit. Livable communities are those that are healthy, economically vibrant, socially equitable, and environmentally sustainable.

Goals:

• Increased public funding and support for transit and livable communities at the federal, state, regional, and local levels.
• Greater involvement of public transit agencies in creating livable communities and linking to bicycle, pedestrian, and street networks.
• Increased private sector investment in creating livable communities.
• Greater civic participation in the creation and support of livable communities.
• Stronger role and visibility for Rail~Volution as the leader in the national movement to develop livable communities.

Objectives:

• Publicize and promote transportation investments that support livable communities and link transit, bicycle, and pedestrian networks.
• Publicize and support private sector investments in livable communities.
• Publicize, promote, and support civic engagement efforts that engage a broadening range of constituencies to create and support livable communities.
• Provide an innovative and effective forum for the public, private, and non-profit sectors to collaborate on creating livable communities with transit.
